Providing Comfort and Compasion for Hospice Patients
Hospice volunteers are a vital component to hospice care. Volunteers provide comfort and companionship for patients living with life-limiting illness. They offer support to the hospice patient’s families and caregivers by offering respite care. Volunteers also assist at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Hospice Volunteer Training
Hospice Volunteer Training will be held at Trinity Regional Medical Center from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Speakers give presentations on a variety of topics including the roles of hospice team members, the basic principles of hospice care, standard precautions, communication skills, confidentiality, spiritual care of the hospice patient and the grief process.
